Recipe: Beet Carrot Apple Ginger Juice for your Health!
My digestive system is a sensitive beast. To tame it, I whip up a soothing juice and sip first thing in the morning to help keep the demons at bay. Beets are excellent liver detoxifiers. Ginger soothes the stomach and prevents gas, bloating, and discomfort. Apple and carrot provide vitamins A and C, and help kickstart your energy. I don’t own a juicer, but this recipe works like a charm in a good ol’ fashioned blender. It’s a little thicker than pressed juice-but not nearly as thick as a smoothie- and is absolutely delicious and nutrient-packed. This recipe serves one 16 oz glass. Bottoms up!
INGREDIENTS:
1 apple
1 baby beet
Handful of baby carrorts or 1 large carrot, chopped
Cup of water
1/2 tbs Fresh ginger grated
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Remove skin from apple, slice apple into small slices.
2. Place all ingredients in blender. Blend until smooth.
3. Pour into cup, sip slowly, and enjoy!
Note: Beets take some time to prepare, so I buy organic preservative-free baby beets. You can find these in the produce section of most grocery stores or Trader Joes.
