Adam Levine's Rock Star Yoga Workout - Details... →
“Weights made my neck thick, and I would be like, ‘I’m turning into a monster!’ Yoga takes what you have and molds and sculpts it, which is a much more natural way to look and feel.” - Adam Levine of Maroon 5

Read on for my Pumpkin Smoothie Recipe!
To me, yoga is taking responsibility for your own body and not just saying, “Something else is going to fix it.” You are what you eat. And what you eat, you bring to your yoga mat, or to bootcamp, or to your run, and most certainly to how you feel when you go to sleep at night. I’ve learned that to be fit you need to live fit, and hold yourself to whatever it is that works for you. For me,...

Bountiful Blessings: Count ‘em
Our ability to approach life with openness and gratitude starts on the yoga mat and radiates out. One of my favorite parts of yoga is how every practice ends in a beautiful Namaste and a deep feeling of connection to the class and to life. Namaste is an expression of mindfulness, connection and deep gratitude. Cultivating this practice of thankfulness and gratitude leads to a greater connection to...

Surf and Yoga retreat here I come! 12 days to go, and my training regimen is staying strong. This week in review: Tuesday Bootcamp followed by Abs class at NYHRC, Wednesday Vinyasa Power yoga at Exhale Spa, Thursday Pilates at NYHRC. Phew, I am so happy to be noticing more and more strength in my core and definition!! Right in time for Rincon, PR where I’ll be jetsetting off to in less than...
You've only got one body. Make it count.
Before I blog, let me warn you. I’m 5 for 5 so far - some days with multiple workouts and this means some extra adrenaline is spiking this post. Sunday through Thursday I’ve trained and pushed myself, being fit, happy and healthy is the theme of my life and well, it should be. I have gratitude for flexibility, for movement, for power. Each and every morning I feel thankful knowing I am...

Hello workout. I'm addicted to you.
Been glued to my yoga mat, the gym, and in between, a bar stool or two. Here we go with a quickie recap:
Friday - Lunchtime yoga and TGIF! Lots of strength required for some of the more challenging twists and balances made for a fantastic mid-day escape from my desk. After the great workout I powered through the rest of Friday afternoon and finished the week ready to play, starting with a date at...

Happy Friday!
Give something to the people around you today–a smile, an honest compliment, a piece of wisdom, a small courtesy. We’re all in this together. We just need to let each other in.

This is my front yard. I love New York.
My evening plan of working out with my trainer fell through so I decided to spend the evening simply relaxing, thinking. Enjoying the sunset and city skyline that comforts me as I step out of my apartment. I live in the city that never sleeps - and sometimes I get caught up in the constant rush of trying to be everywhere at once, always thinking of what I need to do, where I want to be. But then,...

Breathe
This evening I took an invigorating restorative yoga class taught by one of my favorite teachers, Ash, at my gym uptown on 76th street. I finished class feeling strong and flexible, deeply stretched and at ease. Ash shared with us his own words on the power of breath, and I’m inspired by his truth and wisdom. Sometimes the stress in my head makes me feel weak, when I’m not weak at all...
Hoodies and Pumpkin... my favorites of Autumn
I just returned from two back-to-back classes at NYHRC, Leo’s bootcamp and then an abs/core class on bosu balls. Followed by some serious steam room and sauna lounging. It’s been my Tuesday night ritual for 3 years! Now, my apartment smells like pumpkin pie. Warm pumpkin muffins I baked while wearing a new hoodie. Fall has arrived and I am embracing it!
New Hoodie #1 - Oakley...

Rock me mamma like a wagon wheel
I love proud yoga moments, when I realize that YES, I can, and I will. There’s a huge confidence factor with yoga, a huge curiosity component too. How would that Wheel pose feel if I got there? Well, I’m going to push myself and do it because every ounce of my confidence believes that I can do it. I’ve been doing the easier, modified pose whenever the yoga instructor gives the...
